Welcome to my first Newsletter (hopefully, one of many) sharing everything Photography and Linkedin to educate, motivate, inspire and entertain. Well, it can’t all be work, can it?
Let me briefly introduce myself, to give you an idea of my experience and why I have a confident voice with everything that I will be sharing with you.
I have been in the Construction Industry for 39 years, the first of 11 years working in various roles for small and large House Building Companies.
Working from Office Junior to office Manager, and then as a Sales Ledger Supervisor and Purchase Ledger Supervisor.
Undoubtedly, this experience gave me a substantial footing in setting up and running my businesses which were to follow.
In 1993 I had my first child and chose to be a stay-at-home mum, having my second child just 14 months later.
It was a full-on job having two babies so close together, and as much as I loved being a new Mum – it didn’t satisfy the creativity I had bouncing around in my head (or my heart ❤️)
I will always have creativity pushing me to my next venture… when you have it, it just CANNOT be ignored!
So, I started to create crafts – homemade cards, jewellery, fancy doorstops, Christmas Stockings etc – selling them at Craft Fairs around the UK. (This was 28 years ago, way before the time of being able to sell your creations on Etsy!)
Creativity pushed me a step further, and I had soon set up a sewing workshop in my garage (all the while being a stay at home single mum) where I made hand-sewn interlined curtains and blinds for clients – I was even chief curtain pole fitter! (Hand me a drill and a box of tools, and I am a happy girl). 🤗
Fast forward to today, an Interior Designer for over 25 years, a professional photographer for eight years and latterly a Linkedin Trainer for nearly three years!
Phew! Did I achieve all of that with absolutely NO training at all? 😳
ALL businesses are still going strong (although I am leaving the world of Interior Design behind), my Commercial Photography and Linkedin Training are what I get out of bed for in the morning… and I love them both equally.
So what can you expect from me?
I am here to share my expansive knowledge of running my businesses, setting them up, the pitfalls, how to overcome challenges and hopefully, to motivate and inspire you to create a life that makes your heart beat faster and louder every single day for your business.
My enthusiasm for life is infectious, as is my positivity, resistance and determination to be the best you can be for yourself and those around you.
Whether you hire a professional photographer for your branding photography or use your mobile device to take pics, I will be sharing hints and tips on how to get the most out of them all.
That takes me to your Linkedin marketing – if you don’t take it seriously – then this won’t be the magazine for you. However, if you do, it is definitely the magazine you want to follow. I share my experiences, what works for me, what doesn’t, the new rollouts and how they will affect the pesky algorithms we all want to keep ahead of.
Beware, though, I do get a little passionate about things I believe firmly in – the use of ‘Alt Text’ being one of them, and I have lots of information to share on that coming shortly.
I am passionate about making Linkedin work for all of my clients – As a professional photographer and Linkedin Trainer, I integrate the two so that they benefit your business; and the future of your business.
If that isn’t enough – my Peak District walks will have you grabbing your boots and heading for the hills wherever you live in the world… as will my Gallery, which is constantly being updated with new places to visit across the UK (until I choose to travel again, of course).
Living in a world of uncertainty right now – we all need nature and the great outdoors to lift our spirits, and I share that in abundance.
If you are in, then please give me a follow.
You can find more over on my website (pages being added and updated all of the time).
I would love to hear about what YOU want me to share… anything Photography, iPhone Photography, Linkedin, or even if you need a bit of inspiration and motivation to set your own business up, I am always willing to help.
Meanwhile, feel free to follow the links highlighted. If I can help you with either my Photography, Linkedin Masterclass or iPhone Photography Masterclass, book a call, and we can chat further.
A snippet from a recommendation, by Hayley Ekgren.
"Having known Di for several years, I really got to know the 'real' Di over the past 18 months as we'd often meet up for some 'entertaining' walks throughout Covid lockdowns.
This lady is ace. She has so much passion and enthusiasm for what she does and loves to share her knowledge (even with the cows and sheep we often encounter on our walks!)"

Hearty congratulations on the launch of your newsletter. Love the website too especially the shots of the UK. They make me nostalgic for my youth growing up in Staffordshire.
Congratulations on the launch of your newsletter. I love your web site as well especially the pictures of the UK. I grew up in Staffordshire and often went hiking in the Peak district. Love Rudyard Lake, Dove and Manifold Valley’s. Now in Toronto.
