Sunbursts… I love them!… and whenever there is a bright sunny day, I always change my camera settings so I can capture the sun so that it looks like a bursting star, which improves the appearance of the overall image massively.

Contrary to the fact that I am often asked if I create them in photoshop, the answer is a resounding NO! as I believe that that is what my camera is for; a tool to which I can be creative.

For me, and the lenses which I use, a smaller aperture of f/22 always works perfectly, but it does depend on the number of star points which you prefer in your image, by which you can open it up by changing your aperture to an f/16.

The science behind it is baffling, (for someone like me anyway – as I just love to take photographs and be as creative as I possibly can by stretching my ability as far as I can go)!

It is for that reason that I attach a link here if you want to learn more, for these are the experts when it comes to the science behind it!

So, if you like this sunburst effect, next time you are out with your camera, give it a go – you may be pleasantly surprised!

Have fun and don’t forget to share your pictures with me, I would love to see them!
